The Yellow Jacket Flying Club is the premier aviation community at Georgia Tech, located in Atlanta, GA. The YJFC was founded in 1945 by several GT students who wanted to pursue their passion for flying. Over its more than 75 years of operation, the YJFC has had a rich history of promoting aviation interest and education within the Georgia Tech family, and its members have helped shape the face of aviation in the Atlanta area. The Club exists to provide opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, and staff to develop their interest in aviation. Whether it is simply hanging out with other aviation enthusiasts or actually learning how to fly, the YJFC has something for everyone!
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the YJFC keeps the costs of learning to fly down, making it easier to earn a pilot’s license. We own and operate a fleet of four Cessna 172 and one Cessna 182 aircraft that are open to all club members to fly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! We’re based at the Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) in Chamblee, GA, a short drive up I-85 or MARTA ride from campus.
